Earth Day inspires students to act

In the spirit of former U.S. Sen. Gaylord Nelson, the founder of Earth Day, WUSTL students are trying this year "to stem the tide of environmental disaster," by presenting the facts "clearly and dramatically" through two events: a debate about the use of coal Tuesday, April 27, and a panel discussion about the sustainability of corporate energy Thursday, April 29. Obituary: Richard E. Norberg, pioneering NMR physicist, 87

Richard E. Norberg, PhD, retired professor and longtime chair of physics in Arts & Sciences at Washington University and a pioneer in using nuclear magnetic resonance as a practical analysis tool, died April 20, 2010, at Bethesda Dilworth in St. Louis. He was 87. FULL STORY

Conceptual artist Rehberger at Sam Fox School April 26

German conceptual artist Tobias Rehberger is known for creating a wide range of playful-yet-pointed objects and installations that explore the boundaries between public and private, function and aesthetics, original and reproduction. At 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 26, Rehberger will discuss his work for the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts’ Public Lecture Series. The free talk is co-sponsored by the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum.
